A co-ordinator is needed to recruit and co-ordinate volunteers to help with fundraising events such as flag days, dog shows, sponsored walks etc. The co-ordinators telephone number and email address would appear on the branch and society websites. The Co-ordinator would work with volunteer centres within the branch area and respond to email enquiries from potential volunteers.

Mentor for positive Placement Project

Following training, Volunteers are needed to act as Mentors supporting up to 3 young people (aged 16 to 25) on the Placement Project.
This will involve preparing the young people for specific placements e.g catering, hairdressing, market work, care work, working closely with the Project Co-ordinator and Project Manager. They will accompany the young people to the their first placement, debrief them afterwards and subsequently as necessary. They will inform the Project Co-ordinator of any issues and meet up with them and other mentors monthly.
The objective is to enable the young people to: gain confidence, develop their potential, have new experiences, develop an understanding of their responsibility to their community and strengthen their C.Vs.
A maximum of 3 days per month is required.

Alcohol Awareness Education Presenter and Assistant – Horsham Matters/ Y Centre

These volunteer roles are part of an exciting new initiative that aims to reduce children/young people’s alcohol consumption, alcohol related anti-social behaviour and violent crime and alcohol related hospital admissions. Following training, the pair of volunteers will deliver Alcohol Awareness sessions to schools and youth settings across the Horsham District, targeting ages 11 to 15.

Horsham Sea Cadets Adult Volunteers

Horsham Sea Cadets is part of the UKs largest maritime youth charity. Based in Broadbridge Heath, the unit meets on Mondays and Thursday evenings for training, courses in boatwork, seamanship, paddle sports and many other activities. Volunteers are needed to join the team in supporting the young people with their training and activities on a Monday or Thursday from 7pm to 9.15pm.

The Amber Foundation Fundraising Volunteers

Amber’s residential centre in Ockley helps young, unemployed, homeless people, who may have been involved in substance misuse or crime, to overcome personal barriers and gain the social, emotional, educational and practical tools needed to make a fresh start.

Fundraising is crucial to the continuation of the amazing work being done by this centre. They are keen to hear from anyone who is willing to give up a bit of time and effort to help this worthwhile cause. Amber can provide ideas and inspiration as well as support and hands on involvement from some of the young people to help raise money.

Fundraisers and Marketing/PR Volunteers for Home-Start

Home-Start helps families with young children who are experiencing stress and needing friendship, advice and practical support by providing trained Home Visitors.

Volunteers are needed to help organise local fundraising events and activities, or help with marketing and PR, to spread the word about this vital organisation and raise much needed funds. Events can be big or small, from coffee mornings to sponsored sports events.
